There’s something special about wearing a garment that you’ve made yourself especially when you have the ability to draft your own pattern. For those that didn’t know my wife and I have partnered up with Tricia from Creative Costume Academy to create Pattern Making Academy. The shawl collar linen blazer was drafted from our previous course and I paired it with shorts from my Simplicity Pattern 9758.
I chose linen because obviously it is perfect for warm weather. It’s lightweight, breathable, and has a lovely drape. When I wear my suit, I feel comfortable and relaxed, even on the hottest days. Plus, the natural wrinkles that linen develops over time give the suit a unique character that you just can’t get with other fabrics.
