A cool and fun experience in the city of Boston…
Fresh off the airplane from Logan International Airport, I was welcomed into the city with an overcast that gave Boston an interesting mood. To add onto the interesting feeling I arrive at The Liberty Hotel located in Beacon Hill on Charles Street. The building used to be the Charles Street Jail built in 1851 and completely turned into a luxury full serviced hotel with contemporary rooms. A really cool and eclectic decor filled the lobby as soon as I walked across the copper stones from the front drive and through the front doors.
I took the streets photographing as soon as I checked in and was able to get a sense of direction of where to go first.
The area had a mixture of boutiques from local designers, restaurants, and also residential apartment homes. I liked the style of the old brick buildings that kept the same architecture even with the design of their local Starbucks.
Moving along with all the excitement I got super hungry and found a good local Italian restaurant called, Toscano. A little too fancy for what I was looking for but the food was really great. I ordered the Salsiccia Pizza that was made with homemade sausage, tomato, and fresh mozzarella.
“2nd Time Around” is a vintage boutique that I happen to just pass by during my adventure, if you know me at all anytime I see vintage I have to walk in and look around.
Mostly women clothes so I was able to find some really cool jewelry pieces for my girl-friend. They had a huge collection of vintage designer brands like J. Crew and Ralph Lauren, Chanel, etc.
I ran into this neat little bakery/cafe called Tatte. I always leave room for sweats and I managed to try their cheesecake pudding and a cold brewed coffee. I enjoyed the environment watching local creatives coming and going while I ate.
What’s better than a city park? Just a block away from the shopping area I saw the Public Garden that was full of nice scenery. There were lots of families, runners, and tourist like me out enjoying the day.
I believe I spent most of my time there walking around and just taking in nature, but mostly had to rest from all the walking and photographing.
I kept walking till I got to Newbury Street were all the high end designers are located along with more restaurant and boutiques, up and down the strip.
I did some street shopping and found this great gold bracelet with some type of fabric wrapped around different sections of it. It goes great with my other ethnic jewelry and looks like I bought them all at one place.
Then it started to ran.
It was such a long day with so much to see and still I only saw a fraction of the city. Boston is a beautiful city and I can’t wait to come back and visit again to see more.
Eve!
