DIY: DOPE MEN SEW LATEST STYLE

DIY: VOGUE MEN PATTERN 9041 – DOUBLE BREASTED COAT

Come see my new DIY coat up close with no missing details…

Today I’m so excited to show you guys my latest DIY project using Vogue Men Pattern 9041. As you may know I’ve been learning to sew with my girl Mimi G. Style and she is responsible for guiding over the past few months.

I love working with plaid fabrics because they give me a change by aliening the plaids up perfectly and I wanted to do a fully lined coat that was something I haven’t done yet. I styled my coat with a dapper look rocking a light blue dress shirt, tweed dress pants and the waistcoat (vest) from my navy suit. My burgundy striped bow tie compliments the bright burgundy cap toe shoes that works great with my plaid coat.

Norris, you better show them how it’s done! I love it and I’m thinking about making one for my husband. MiMi is a good good teacher, you’ve got the best person to show you how it’s to be done. Congratulations on making your first coat.

This is such a great interpretation of an otherwise dull appearing pattern. I never would have thought of adding those accent pieces (or even have noticed them on the pattern envelope). This is truly a beautifully designed couture coat.

Thank you for pointing that out lol! I didn’t see them until I starting cutting out the pattern.
