DIY: KNIT SHORTS + BURDA PATTERN REVIEW #6719

Checkout my sewing skills with nice construction work…For those that follow me at all you may have caught me behind the sewing machine at some point. Thanks to my girlfriend MIMI G. STYLE I’m lucky to have her teach me some of the important details that go into crafting garments from rolls of fabric, and not just alterations.

So, with all that being said I have completed my very first commercial pattern (Burda Pattern #6719) which are a pair of casual sweat pants. This project wasn’t difficult at all and I had lots of fun trying to figure out each set. My girl said that I was forcing it a little and being too serious…LOL…I just simply didn’t want to mess up a step.

Pattern Description: Men’s casual jogger shorts

Pattern Sizing: US 36 – 46
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like that it was easy to work through because this was by very first time working with a commercial pattern.
Fabric Used: Wool Blend (options here & here)
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I tapered the shorts in the pant legs to make them more fitted.
Would you sew it again? Yes
Would you recommend it to others? Yes
